Looks like I was able to fix the forums. Thanks Tim for your offer of help!
I just reloaded a backup of all of the php files that changed in the last update, but I have not been able to roll back the sql changes. What does that mean?

News: BrownCoat Cruise Announced |
|
BrownCoat_Tabz writes "
The cruise is in the early planning stages at this
point but the following details are now public:
• Our 5 day cruise
sails on December 1, 2007, leaving from San Diego, California.
• Cruise destinations include Cabo San Lucas, and Ensenada, Mexico.
• Cruise will span 5 fun-filled days and 5 exciting nights.
• VIP guests including several Big Damn Heros (i.e.
Firefly/Serenity cast) have been invited. They are currently
waiting for additional details before they commit. We are
expecting to have at least two BDHs on board, hopefully
more. We also plan to have several non-BDH VIPs on board.
•
Activities ideas currently include several shindigs, guest meet ups,
river dance lessons, masquerade ball, fan panels, games, themed
on-shore excursions and much more.
• Our goal
is to have the total price for cruise and all activites to be in-line
with similar land bound conventions, and considerably less than most
themed cruises. And, like all cruises, the price includes all food!
•
There will be a discounted non-activity pass for those non-Browncoat
friends and family (is there such a thing) that want to come along for
the cruise.
• There will be an early bird
discount, and we plan to keep nearly all of the registration capital in
the bank until we are 100% sure the cruise will go as planned. No
surprises!
• This is a professionally-run event organized
by fans.
• Cruise destination will be a foreign country (Mexico) and a valid passport will be required.
• These early details are subject to change. Many
additional details will be available soon.
• This will be a warm weather cruise, no Jayne hat required (though certainly encouraged).

News: Nathan Fillion and Tim Minear to work together again |
|
BrownCoat_Tabz writes "Firefly Star and Producer Reuniting To Drive
By: STEPHEN LACKEY, Columnist Date: Tuesday, December 19, 2006
Nathan Fillion was the hottest thing in the genre world during the short lived Firefly TV series. After the series ended and the tie in film Serenity was in the can Fillion went on to do another fantastic genre film called Slither. Things were looking up, but then, for some reason he signed on to do White Noise 2.
WTF? So, just when we thought we saw the last of Fillion, other than
Bruce Campbell rejected direct to video trash along comes one time
writer and executive producer of Firefly Tim Minear with a new TV series.
Minear is the creator and executive producer of Drive,
a series that has been picked up by FOX and is expected to debut in
spring of 2007. The series focuses on Fillion’s character that is
forced to participate in an illegal cross country road race to save his
abducted wife. The pilot was shot with Ivan Sergei playing the lead
role. Minear wanted Fillion all along but at the time of shooting
Fillion was deep into the production of his new classic White Noise 2. So when the series was picked up and Fillion had become available the lead role was recast. While
it isn’t the return to genre that we had hoped for this series should
feature some great action, and if Fillion is given any leeway at all,
some quirky character moments. "

News: Firefly - the Game that Should Have Been |
|
Reaver writes "
BDH The Game That Should Have Been
In the January 2007 issue of Game Informer Firefly was listed as the #1 game that should have been.
"So what if the series only lasted a little over a dozen episodes, and Serenity
has come and gone? Firefly was one of the best things to happen to
sci-fi since, well, ever! We're envisioning a huge multi-part epic
where we learn more about the characters in each self-contained
chapter. Hand-to-hand combat with River, RPG conversations between Mal
and Inara, western-style shoot-outs with Jayne - there's more that
enough room for great storytelling and game play. Publishers, why don't
you poll to find the correlation between gamers and Firefly fans? I
think you may be pleasantly surprised."
You can find the article on page 32 of January 2007's issue. Other games that should have been include Homer's Odyssey, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, and Quantum Leap.
I
personally would really love a Firefly first person shooter or one that
is set up like GUN or even the way that Lego Star Wars 2 was done. A
mixture of piloting Serenity, doing jobs, and fighting Reavers."
